Shirleyless Sarah is home
Good evening everybody. Just letting you know that I am back home. I feel excited, however, my energy levels are very low. I know that I have to "let the dust settle" for a few days. I will let you know when I am up for visitors, but it isn't yet.
Martha and Katy are staying at Dave's tonight. This is a good move for me to have space for recovery.
I do not have a stair rail that I can use, and have agreed to live upstairs until it is fitted. My mum tells me this will be tomorrow, so I do not have long to wait. My top three stairs have no handrail for now. I will have a handrail down the wall.
Dave collected me, with his mum. I am really glad that Joan came into hospital and saw where I have been staying. My departure was really quite simple. I was watching Anna Karina blockbuster film on a TV at my bed. I missed the end - I will have to catch up on this another day. Dave and Joan packed up my gear (I didn't have much there). Nurse Emily gave me my leaving notes and drugs. I went to loo (for a long time, but it was worth it :)). Dave got a chair for me and off we went.
I did have to ask Dave to drive carefully - I felt a bit zany in the car, and the swooshing and turning was contributing to my on going head ache. No doubt he was only driving at 20 mph, but it felt like 200 mph.
At home, my mum was waiting with "welcome home" balloons and a banner.
Mum is caring for me. She is going to nurse me back to good health. She cares so much.
My next appointment at the hospital is next week. This is called an oncology appointment (I think). This will be where I am informed of the pathology of my tumour. My surgeon is sure it is malignant, so I will attend the meeting expecting this news, and we will find out what the next steps are.
Between now that then, I rest and enjoy the tennis. Come on Andy!
I love you all.

Good morning. Belly has woken us all telling nurse Tulie that she loves her. It is a joy :).
I am in pain. Back on the painkillers - 2 paracetemol and 2 codeine. My in-the-night awakeness passed and I have had more sleep. Love you. Sarah

Good morning all. I am wide awake at 0430. I do not need pain relief - my head is "achey" but not in agony. I want the time to pass but it won't. We joke on the ward that the clock goes round twice, and this is happening now. I can "go to sleep" and then wake and look at clock, and it will appear to have gone backwards. Time is inverted. It is 440 now...
Love you
